The Weekly WORD
- Photographer Jennifer Causey will present photos and stories from her book Brooklyn Makers, documenting the crafters, artisans, and other DIY-folk of our borough, Wednesday the 14th at 7 p.m.
- We’re joining forces with Community Bookstore and Greenlight Bookstore to throw a party and reading at Franklin Park on Thursday the 15th at 7:30 p.m. Contributors Carmela Ciuraru, Matt Weiland, and Emily St. John Mandel will explain why bookstores are awesome, and if you pre-order the book from us you get a free beer!
- The opening night of the first ever NYC Moby-Dick reading marathon opens at WORD on Friday the 16th! The opening reception/Etymology/Extracts will be at 5 p.m., with “Call me Ishmael” at 6 p.m. Make sure to check out the Marathon’s website for full details about all three days, plus reader lists.
The week after that is the week of Thanksgiving, and we’ll be taking a break from events — we wish you delicious food and well-read company.
